Performance

Horses like any other athlete, can have problems that can change or limit their ability to perform at their expected level. Diagnosing these performance problems not only includes lameness detection, diagnosis and treatment but also looks at other causes of reduced or poor performance.  These include illnesses that cause problems with the systems in their bodies including breathing, heart, digestive and nervous systems.

At Blackstrap Hill Veterinary Clinic we perform comprehensive lameness exams which include radiology and ultrasound along with an extensive examination of the horses movement. These lameness exams are accompanied by appropriate examination of other systems these may include laboratory tests, endoscopy and further evaluation after treatments.
